Thanks for taking the time to read through our website. A little background about me - I found Palangi Kickboxing in NJ after trying other Kb gyms, and other training programs. I fell in love with boxing and this program for 1 real, raw reason - I was called out on my sh*t. I needed someone, Master Scott Palangi, to:
1. Tell me I CAN do this if I REALLY want it 2. Show me that I am solely responsible for my own success - believe in myself! 3. Light a fire under my behind and make a lot of things real for me. I learned that I make a lot of really crappy excuses that hinder me from moving forward in life. I became coachable, and I made the necessary changes to make a change for life 4. Encourage me to do all the above without judgment and letting me figure it out for myself while empowering me to be strong and able
Yes, one person did all of this for me through Kickboxing, mindfulness, and sheer drive. I was always strong minded (ok, stubborn) and that has definitely helped me be consistent but Scott opened my eyes. I was standing in my own way with a lot of different things as well as fitness. I am constantly pushing my students to learn as I did, to get out of your own way, stop making excuses, and stop justifying your negative behavior. I am a firm, tough love kind of coach. I expect all of my students to be proactive in their journey, to reach out when they need something (all of my students have my personal cell phone number and are encouraged to use it), and I expect my students to be as bluntly honest as I am with them. I want my students to not only lose weight and "look better" or "be fit", but I want my students to improve their quality of life for the purpose of longevity and to be positive figures within their communities and families. Fitness can opened the door to many new positive ways of thinking and being, and I encourage those within my school to do the same. We are much more than a gym.
Thanks again for reading about the Palangi+ Philosophy and how I choose to run our school. You can opt in for my coaching, or opt out. I am not the type of person to hound you to become a member; you have to want it. In fact, once my students sign up, they are encouraged to do it on their own for the first two weeks, then report back if they need assistance. We learn a lot about ourselves through change, and that can be scary, but Palangi+ coaches are supportive and will give you the necessary tools to get you through any breakdowns you may have.
Yours in progressive health and wellness,
